Happy Hour Blues!
“Fine subdued, pure blues, that’s what Rutherford shows on his ‘Midnight Microphone’. He does so with a voice that holds the middle between Tom Waits and Latif Gardez of the band Mystery Slang along with austere guitar playing and lyrics that are almost prose.” - Fons Delemarre

This is a fascinating program presented and hosted by Calgary music legend Tim Williams. Tim interviews and digs into the work and careers of Calgary music creators and industry movers and shakers. I am honoured to be the subject of Tim's questioning at November's edition of A Glimpse Behind the Curtain.
Tearing it up with the band!
Honoured to be performing along with other Blues Recording of the Year nominees Erin Ross and Mark Dillon.
I will be hosting an in depth interview with Canadian music industry guru and legend Richard Flohil. Each year I have the privilege of working with the Calgary International Blues Festival on a program called A Walk Through Blues History. I conduct an interview with a guest of the festival to explore through conversation and story telling various topics reflecting on blues and the history of the music. This year we will join the celebration along with festivals and events across Canada marking Richard Flohil's 90th birthday! I am so excited to have the chance to hang out with Richard and ask him about his incredible career as a journalist, publicist, and concert promoter, and about his monumental contribution to the Canadian music industry and blues history.
Can't think of a better way to spend a summer evening. Calgary Bluesfest, Heritage Park and CJSW Radio present the Blues Witness, with host Cindy McLeod, in a live broadcast. The evening will feature me and my trio in concert. And, I might even get a chance to speak on the air!!! This is a family friendly, free event!
